Swedish electric carmaker Polestar sold 384 units of its Polestar 2 being the third best selling model in Norway during February. In 2021, Polestar’s luxury sedan was the 10th most popular car model in the Scandinavian country, the one with the highest EV adoption.

Norway is the country with the biggest openness to EVs, the biggest understanding of what it is to drive an EV and the most welcoming for having an alternative.

During February, the company had its first-ever Super Bowl commercial which, according to EDO, was 23x more effective than the median Super Bowl LVl ad airing. The commercial was initially leaked by our site some hours before the event and reached 55,000 views during the first 4 days.

Only Hyundai and BMW had models with higher sales numbers with IONIQ 5 and IX models, respectively. IONIQ 5 was the best selling model with 454 units sold, followed by BMW IX with 415 units delivered. Also Skoda Enyaq, Ford Mustang Match-E and Audi E-Tron had good numbers delivering more than 300 units each one.

During February, Polestar has hosted ‘test drive roadshows’ in Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane, giving more than 1,600 customers the opportunity to experience driving the Polestar 2 Model. Within 48 hours of the test drives, nearly 300 orders were placed for the Polestar 2, with deliveries expected to begin as soon as next month.

Polestar has officially commenced sales in Australia, with deliveries of the Polestar 2 set to begin this month with pre-configured vehicles. This follows Polestar’s test-drive roadshow, which has enabled over 1,600 customers to experience Polestar 2 in person at locations in Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
