Nio‘s family-oriented sub-brand Onvo released a new Q&A edition on Monday, unveiling more details about upcoming deliveries of the newly launched second generation L60.
Pre-orders for the new version of the five seat SUV started on September 19, with the prices remaining unchanged from the previous iteration.
The brand says it is “coordinating its supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics” for production of the model, as the Shanghai-based company is also ramping up the output of its recently launched L90 and ES8 SUVs.
Following the L90 in late July, Nio has also released its third generation ES8.
The brand, founded and led by William Li, is focused on ensuring the fastest delivery of its three-row vehicles in the last months of the year.
Additionally, Nio recently said that the L80 (the five-seat version of the L90), previously set to be launched later this year, is now being pushed back to early 2026.
“Onvo needs to concentrate on doing a small number of important things well. Recently, we have made the Onvo L90 the short-term top priority for the entire Onvo brand,” Nio‘s co-founder and President Lihong Qin said last month.
Production for Nio Group’s three brands — its premium brand, Onvo, and Firefly — is currently underway at its two factories in Hefei.
Its third plant is set to start manufacturing later this month.
Last Friday, at the launch event for the refreshed iteration of the L60, Onvo said that deliveries of the model would begin in late October.
On Monday, the brand said that deliveries are “expected to start gradually in mid-to-late October.”
Onvo also said it is introducing the ‘Waiting Points’ system for L60 orders, according to which “if a customer cannot pick up the car within 4 weeks due to reasons related to the Onvo brand, the company will provide ‘L60 Waiting Points’ at 500 points/day.”
In mid-August, to stem cancellations for the new model as it struggled with production ramp up, Onvo introduced an “L90 Waiting Points” programme.
If the car isn’t delivered within 28 days of the order lock, customers accrue 500 points per day from day 29 — according to the brand.
Given the strong order figures for the ES8 SUV, officially launched over the weekend on the annual ‘Nio Day’ event, the same system will be applied to the model.
Customers whose wait times exceed eight weeks will receive “peace-of-mind waiting points,” accumulating at 500 points per day from the 57th day after order lock-in until delivery.
Additionally, Nio is granting each order locked in before December 31, a voucher covering any additional purchase tax incurred if invoicing and delivery slip into 2026 due to Nio‘s production or logistics delays.
The points are credited to the owner’s Nio app account after handover. The points can be used in accessories and in battery-swap services.
In the same edition of the Q&A, the brand unveiled new details on the Nappa leather interior and accessories such as a foldable rear tray table.
Onvo management described the update as a minor facelift, with the vehicle being designed to stimulate demand of its debut model.
