Nio Group‘s family-oriented sub-brand Onvo delivered 3,481 vehicles in January, its weakest month since the sub-brand began deliveries in September 2024, as the company rolls out new incentives and new limited editions to revive demand.
The figures represent a 62% decline from December and a 41% drop from a year earlier, falling below the 4,319 units recorded in October 2024 — Onvo‘s first full month of deliveries in China.
The brand’s monthly deliveries peaked at 17,342 units in October 2025, driven by the production ramp-up of the L90 three-row SUV.
Since then, volumes have declined sharply.
The January figures include exports to overseas markets such as Uzbekistan, where Nio said Sunday it has opened its first showroom with a local distributor.
Nio Group Total
Nio Group delivered 27,182 vehicles globally in January, nearly doubling from a year ago when the Firefly sub-brand had not yet launched.
The total included 20,894 Nio-branded vehicles, 3,481 Onvo units, and 2,807 vehicles from Firefly, the company’s compact premium brand. Nio-brand deliveries were largely driven by the three-row ES8 SUV.
Subsidy Impact
In early November, Li admitted that Onvo would be the most affected by the end of subsidies in China.
“Our Onvo L60 and L90 are majorly affected by this cancellation as they are in a relatively low price segment and are more sensitive to such changes,” Li said at the time.
The company stopped displaying estimated delivery waiting times on its website in mid-October after wait times had fallen from 8-10 weeks to 7-9 weeks.
New Incentives
Nio‘s main brand and Onvo launched a seven-year financing program on Sunday with an annual rate of 0.49%, matching offers from Tesla, Xiaomi, XPeng, and other automakers competing for buyers in China’s crowded EV market.
The promotion, running from February 1 to February 28, allows customers to purchase vehicles with a down payment starting at 20% and daily payments as low as 69 yuan ($10).
The program includes zero financial service fees and no penalties for early repayment, with same-day vehicle pickup available after online approval, the company said.
Earlier last week, Onvo launched a Spring Festival promotional campaign offering test drive incentives and New Year gift packages.
Customers who complete a test drive can receive various New Year products, while buyers will receive a gift package valued at nearly 1,000 yuan.
Limited Edition Launch
Onvo last week also launched special edition variants for the L90 celebrating the Chinese Year of the Horse.
The “Ma Dao Cheng Gong” (马到成功) edition, offers Max and Ultra configurations priced at 296,800 yuan and 316,800 yuan respectively, or 210,800 yuan and 230,800 yuan with the battery subscription option.
The limited edition includes an exclusive customization package valued at 17,000 yuan featuring a Fortune Purple exterior color, electric running boards with ambient lighting, LiDAR-equipped Nio Pilot Pro intelligent driving system, and a unique serial number badge for each of the 8,000 units produced.
Product Roadmap
Onvo plans to launch a LiDAR-equipped version of the L90 in the second quarter, according to brand chief Fei Shen.
A regulatory filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed the updated L90 will feature LiDAR sensors and a new dual-tone body scheme.
The company is also preparing to launch the L80, a five-seat version of the L90.
