Onvo to Open Pre-Orders for L90 SUV in Early July, Brand Chief Says

Onvo plans to roll out its new flagship three-row SUV, the L90, to showrooms starting early next month, with pre-orders opening simultaneously — the brand’s head Fei Shen said on Monday.

The model made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. However, pricing details for Onvo‘s second model are yet unknown.

Fei Shen said on Monday that the company will begin pre-sales of its L90 model in “early July,” in a post where he also wished Xiaomi success with the launch of its SUV YU7 model later this week.

“Wishing Xiaomi YU7 a successful launch! The Onvo L90 is positioned as a flagship SUV with a spacious three-row interior,” the brand’s chief wrote on Weibo. “The car will arrive at all stores and begin pre-sales in early July.”

The L90 is expected to achieve a 605-kilometre CLTC range on an 85 kWh battery, which the company described as a “game-changer” for large battery electric SUVs in China.

Later in the post, Nio Group’s veteran distinguished the spacious interior of the L90 when compared with the other three-row SUVs available in the Chinese market.

“Compared with existing large three-row SUVs on the market, it offers ‘three rows comfortable enough to sleep in and double the luggage capacity,’ solving the pain point of ‘seats for people but no room for luggage,’ and enabling users to enjoy true space freedom,” Shen wrote.

In China, Onvo drivers can access about 2,000 battery swap stations and over 2,400 Nio chargers.

“Meanwhile, with Nio Power’s highway swapping stations averaging one every 180 km, delivering an equivalent charging efficiency of 20C, users can enjoy freedom to travel far,” the executive wrote.

Highlighting performance, Fei Shen emphasized the L90’s 440 kW all-wheel-drive capability, saying it “provides a confident and composed driving experience. Everyone is welcome to follow along. Let’s all charge up together!”

The latest catalogue of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) showed last week that Onvo’s third model, the L80, will be the five-seat version of the L90 — and not a separate model.

The L80 is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter.

“Then by end of this year, there will be three products under the Onvo brand, and these three products will all be targeting family segments with good qualities and experiences,” the chief executive William Li said in early June.

According to the MIIT filing, the L90 measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and either 1,766 mm or 1,786 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.

Powertrain options include a 340 kW single motor or a dual-motor system rated at 100 kW and 340 kW.

The company is targeting monthly deliveries of 25,000 vehicles under its Onvo sub-brand in the fourth quarter of 2025, the company’s founder and CEO William Li said during the latest earnings call.
