Onvo Ramps Up Nationwide Hiring for Sales Team Leaders

Chinese EV maker Nio restructured its sub-brand Onvo in the first months of 2025, consolidating operations and merging several sales and management roles with the core Nio brand after a sluggish beginning to the year.

In late May, Fei Shen, who had just been appointed head of Onvo, said the brand was “restarting recruitment” and was seeking automotive sales talent nationwide.

“It’s been nearly two months since I took over Onvo, and now we’re restarting recruitment,” Shen wrote at the time, adding: “At least now I have some confidence in my heart. Thank you all.”

Over the last few months, Onvo has gained momentum with its new three-row SUV L90.

The six-seat model — which also has a seven-seat version — was spotted road testing in May and June, while the pre-launch took place in early July, showing signs of strong demand.

The L90 is on track to surpass 10,000 units in August after deliveries began on the first day of the month.

Earlier this month, Morgan Stanley estimated between 30,000 and 35,000 pre-orders in its first four days on sale.

On Wednesday, Shen Fei shared a report about Nio hiring over 200 workers for its factories and wrote: “I’m also recruiting, especially looking for people who can lead sales teams — recruiting nationwide.”

Nio has been preparing to expand its production footprint.

The company is set to open its third factory in Hefei, Anhui province, in September.

Located in Changfeng County, the F3 site spans about 1,600 acres, larger than the company’s existing F1 and F2 facilities.

To support rising volumes across its three brands, Nio launched this week a recruitment drive for more than 200 manufacturing-related positions across all three factories.

The roles include 100 production technicians, 100 logistics technicians and 20 quality inspectors, covering stamping, body, painting and final assembly workshops, as well as warehouse management.

Founder and CEO William Li first said last December that production at F3 would start in the third quarter of 2025, later confirming in July that the ramp-up would begin in September.

Nio has clarified late last year that the site’s initial annual capacity will be about 100,000 vehicles on a single-shift schedule.
