As it prepares to start delivering its debut model, Nio’s sub-brand Onvo has asked suppliers to increase capacity. The current waiting time for deliveries is 8 to 12 weeks, according to the brand’s official app.
Nio Senior VP and Onvo’s President, Alan Ai, wrote on the app that Nio and Onvo held a supplier conference last Friday with over 1,000 supply chain partners where they were asked to “increase shifts and improve production planning.”
“Since the release of the L60, orders have surged. Everyone recognizes the L60 as a product tailored for families. On September 20, we held a large supplier partner conference in Hefei with over 1,000 supply chain partners attending,” Alan Ai stated.
“We are currently working with partners to increase shifts and improve production planning, striving to ensure more users can receive their beloved L60 as soon as possible. Our Fellows and delivery specialists will keep everyone updated on specific delivery times, the executive added.”

Nio management said after the event that expects to deliver 5,000 units in October with a continuous production ramp-up. Nio Group founder and CEO said the goal for March 2025 is to deliver 20,000 L60 units.
On Monday, an official spokesperson wrote, “Since the release on September 19, the number of L60 orders has far exceeded expectations” adding that efforts are being made to “meet the demand for customers.”
“We quickly coordinated with the factory, logistics, and many key partners to refine the production plan in order to further increase production capacity and meet the demand for customers to receive their vehicles as soon as possible,” he added.
The company has asked customers for “patience and support” as production ramp-up takes place at Nio’s factory in Hefei, China.
Meanwhile, Onvo announced Monday two new incentives/benefits with the first one being a daily draw to win “up to 888 yuan ($126) in charging subsidies”.
“A new benefit activity, “Daily Joy,” is now online. Users who have placed orders can participate in a daily draw for the “Expanding Gold Card,” with a chance to win up to 888 yuan in charging subsidies. These subsidies can be used after receiving the vehicle and applied to bills within the Nio Power system, including electricity and service fees,” the brand stated.
Onvo has introduced a new incentive program for customers facing delivery delays. According to the brand, if it fails to deliver a vehicle within 12 weeks from the date of order confirmation due to internal factors, customers will receive a 1,000-yuan no-threshold discount voucher for use in the Onvo car mall upon delivery.
Additionally, for each week beyond the 12-week delivery window, customers will receive two Onvo battery swap experience vouchers. The brand noted that even if the delay is less than a full week, it will be rounded up and counted as one week.
“Starting from the date of order confirmation, if Onvo cannot deliver your vehicle within 12 weeks due to reasons on our end (as per the delivery notice), we will give you a 1000-yuan no-threshold discount voucher for the car mall when you receive your vehicle”, Onvo’s spokesperson communicated.
“For every additional week of delay, you will receive 2 additional Onvo battery swap experience vouchers (even if the delay is less than a week, it will still be counted as a full week),” he added.
Onvo ended the post by saying the manufacturing team “is working hard to accelerate the production pace and ramp up capacity” adding that “ensuring timely, high-quality deliveries will be our top priority moving forward.”
