According to a Chinese News Agency, NIO said on April 14 that “the supply chain has recovered slightly, and the Hefei production base is gradually backing to normal”. The electric vehicle maker has announced on April 9 the suspension of the vehicles production due to Covid-19. NIO’s supply chain partners in Jilin (Shanghai) stopped production forcing the company to suspend the production of its vehicles.

“Production will resume step by step, but the follow-up production plan still depends on the recovery of the supply chain. Supply chain partners in Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu and many other places have stopped production one after another, and have not yet resumed. Affected by this, vehicle production has been suspended.” — the agency reported.

On April 13, United States Ambassador to Israel revealed on his twitter account that has tested NIO x MobilEye Autonomous vehicles in Jerusalem. Ambassador Tom Nides tweeted: “Hey, everyone — no hands! Had fun with Amnon Shashua and the innovative team at Mobileye going out for a spin in Jerusalem in their driverless car”.
