NIO’s CEO reacts to the new monthly Delivery record saying “Let’s keep powering up!”

NIO announced on Friday that delivered 12,961 units in June 2022 setting a new monthly record. On the official app, the CEO William Li reacted to the compliments from NIO users saying, “Thank you all for your support! Let’s keep powering up!”.

The EV maker delivered a total of 25,059 vehicles in the second quarter of 2022 (up 14.4% year-over-year) and its cumulative deliveries reached 217,897 as of June 30. On the note, the company confirmed the expectations of starting the deliveries of the ES7 and the 2022 ES8, ES6 and EC6 in August 2022.

The deliveries consisted of 8,612 SUVs, including 1,684 ES8s, 5,100 ES6s and 1,828 EC6s, and 4,349 ET7s, the Company’s flagship premium smart electric sedan. NIO delivered 25,059 vehicles in the second quarter of 2022, increasing by 14.4% year-over-year. Cumulative deliveries of NIO vehicles reached 217,897 as of June 30, 2022.

In 2021, NIO delivered 91,429 units reaching another consecutive year where it can double the vehicles sales. From 2019 to 2020, the EV maker increased its deliveries by 112.6% with 43,728 units delivered. In 2021, the company sold 91,429 units achieving another 109% increase from the previous year

On Wednesday, JP Morgan analyst Nick Lai issued a note about NIO after the short seller report released by Grizzly Research on Tuesday. The analyst explained that this system used by NIO and Weineng is similar to the one used by OEMs when it comes to vehicle financing and that “every battery held by Wuhan Weineng has a corresponding underlying subscriber”.

The firm remains positive on NIO believing that the company’s vehicle margin will “hit a trough of ~15.5% in Q2 2022 but rebound strongly to ~18-19%” in the second half of 2022.
