Nio to Report Q2 Earnings Results on September 2

EV maker Nio said on Wednesday it will report its second quarter earnings results on September 2, before US markets open.

The earnings call with founder and CEO William Li and chief financial officer Stanley Qu is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

Between April and June, the group — which includes Nio, Onvo and Firefly brands — delivered 72,056 electric vehicles globally, up 25.6% from a year ago.

In the first quarter, the company posted a year over year jump in gross profit, vehicle margin, and gross margin.

However, operating losses increased both year over year (19.0%) and sequentially (6.4%) to 6.418 billion yuan, equivalent to $884.4 million.

The management is expected to provide an update on its vehicle delivery target of about 440,000 units, detail the global expansion with the new business model and the profitability target set for the final quarter of the year.

The brand will host on Thursday the pre-launch event of the revamped ES8 SUV in Hangzhou. Over the last few days, Nio has been shipping the showroom units to its stores across the country.

The official launch will take place at the company’s annual event in late September.
