Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio said on Friday it will open pre-orders on May 10 for refreshed versions of its entry-level ES6 SUV and EC6 coupe SUV but also its sedans ET5 and ET5 Touring.
The upgrades come as part of a lineup update aimed at increasing demand as domestic competition rises.
The company also released official images of the updated models and said vehicles will begin arriving in showrooms across China starting Saturday. The timeline for international availability of the 2025 models remains unknown.

Earlier this week, images circulating on Chinese social media showed the interior of the upcoming 2025 EC6.
“Since their launch, the Nio ES6 and EC6 have won the recognition of nearly 370,000 users with their leading product experience and quality, continuing to lead the premium all-electric SUV market,” the company said in a social media post.
While Nio did not disclose detailed specifications, it said the upgrades span “inside and out,” promising “a more luxurious, smarter, and safer travel experience.”
The 2025 ES6 and EC6 adopt several design elements from the brand’s flagship ET9 sedan, including a horizontal central display and a column-mounted gear selector that enables wireless charging for two smartphones on the center console.

Exterior changes include more squared-off headlights, sharper bumper lines, and a larger front grille.
The EC6 was initially launched in 2019 on Nio’s NT1.0 platform, with first deliveries beginning in September 2020. The company transitioned the model to its NT2.0 platform in September 2023 and introduced the 2024 version in February this year.
The 2024 EC6 starts at 358,000 yuan ($49,000) in China and 239,900 dirhams ($65,000) in the United Arab Emirates.
The refreshed models will also mark Nio’s shift away from Nvidia chips, as it adopts its in-house Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip, built on a 5-nanometer process with more than 50 billion transistors. They will run on Nio’s proprietary SkyOS operating system.
