Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio will open its first Middle East showroom in Abu Dhabi this November, as part of its expansion.
The showroom, known as a “Nio Space,” will be located in the Galleria Al Maryah Island, a high-end mall in the UAE capital, known for hosting luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dior.
A video shared with EV and filmed on Friday showed Nio’s signature “Blue Sky Coming” facade covering the upcoming store, a design the automaker uses to brand its showrooms globally while they are in construction.
Here’s a short video showing Nio’s upcoming showroom in Abu Dhabi.
As recently reported by EV, the rollout of battery swap stations is also being prepared with the first one planned to open soon at the Yas Marina F1 Circuit, thirty minutes away from the capital Abu Dhabi.
The Galleria Al Maryah Island spans 2.3 million square feet (213,000m2) and includes over 400 stores. Nio’s store will open in November, as recently confirmed by the chief executive as it prepares to start vehicle deliveries in the United Arab Emirates later this year.

“Nio House in Abu Dhabi will open in November. I am planning to go to Dubai later this year or next year,” Nio founder and CEO recently stated.
In December 2023, Nio secured a $2.2 billion investment from CYVN Holdings, an Abu Dhabi-based investment vehicle, which increased CYVN’s ownership to 20.1 per cent of the company’s total issued and outstanding shares.
The investment followed a $738.5 million investment made by CYVN in July 2023.
Roberto Lopes da Silva, Nio’s general manager for the market, joined the company in May after spending one year as a Chief Sales Officer at the Canadian EV company AXL.
In July, Nio’s engineering and product development team tested its vehicles to a range of harsh conditions in the Desert, including temperatures reaching up to 124°F (51 degrees Celsius).
