Electric carmaker Nio announced Thursday it is introducing a new Signature edition for its recently unveiled luxurious sedan ET9. After selling all 999 units of the ‘First Edition’ (priced at 818,000 yuan, or $112,100) in just 12 hours, the company is taking advantage of the momentum with a new version.
In its official app, the EV maker said the new version is priced at 808,000 yuan ($110,700), with pre-orders opening immediately. The Signature edition features 23-inch bright black wheels, two executive screens in the second row, and the third generation of the Nomi Mate in-car assistant.
For orders placed before April 30, Nio is offering three years of chauffeur service (limited to 50 hours annually) and three years of travel transfer services, limited to 12 trips annually.
Additionally, buyers of the four-seat sedan will have five years of free maintenance and unlimited free pick-up and drop-off for vehicle servicing. Lifetime free tire repair service, free roadside assistance, and accident support services are also included.
Nio offers customers up to 100 free battery swaps over five years. If a customer exceeds 20 swaps in a single year, they will be charged for additional swaps.
Regarding its ADAS tech, the company offers five years of free access to its full-domain navigation assist (Navigate on Pilot plus /NOP+) and six years of free car networking data.
Premium Assurance including 6 years or 150,000 kilometers of comprehensive vehicle warranty and 10 years of unlimited mileage warranty for core electric components.
For customers ordering before the end of January, Nio offers an additional 5,000 yuan ($685) deposit deduction from 10,000 yuan off the purchase price and 100 hours of exclusive premium chauffeur service (valid for 3 years).
With deliveries in China starting in the first half of next year, the company’s founder and CEO William Li said “selling 1,000 units of the ET9 per month would make us very happy.”
Prices for the four-seater sedan in China start at 660,000 yuan ($90,570) under Nio’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, which allows customers to rent the battery for a monthly fee instead of purchasing it.
As of the time of writing, Nio shares are trading 2.6% higher at $4.74. Year to date, the stock has lost about 48% of its value.
