Nio sent on Wednesday an email announcing that is temporarily cutting prices of two of its models in Germany. In April, and according to official data from the German Federal Motor Transport Association, the brand registered a total of 53 vehicles in the country.
The discounts, which go up to $11,000 (€10,250), follow a recent introduction of a 0 percent annual interest rate announced in early May which applies to the most expensive sedan, the ET7.
At the time, the company also announced that the entry-level SUV EL6 can be leased from €599 per month, including Battery as a Service subscription.

According to the email shared on X, the Shanghai-headquartered brand said the most expensive SUV available, the EL7, is now priced €7,250 lower.
“As part of our limited-time offer, the original price of the ET7 of €69,900 has been reduced by €10,250 and the original price of the EL7 of €73,900 by €7,250,” Nio stated.
At the Beijing Auto Show in late April, Nio unveiled the 2024 version of the ET7 improving computing capabilities and the seats bringing reclining options and new screens and the incorporation of AI technology.
“The discount will be applied after ordering and displayed in the order details. Prices shown are valid for purchase with BaaS subscription. Prices and discounts are inclusive of VAT. The offer is only valid for existing ET7 and EL7 vehicles and only while stocks last. This offer cannot be combined with our financing offers.

In April, the brand registered 53 vehicles in the country marking the second consecutive month of growth after selling 27 units in February and 48 in March.
During the first quarter of this year, the EV manufacturer registered 102 cars, a decrease of 25 per cent from the 136 units registered during the same period in 2023.
