Nio Group Weekly Sales Rise Driven by Onvo and Nio Brands

Nio Group sold 7,050 vehicles in China during the week of October 6–12, rebounding from the sharp decline seen during the National Day holiday period, according to the latest insurance registrations data.

In addition, the past two weeks’ figures were affected by the Chinese Golden Week holidays, which impacted both production and sales between October 1 and 8.

Nio’s registrations had fallen 41% to 6,400 units during the holiday week.

The EV maker’s main premium brand recorded 3,350 units last week, up from 2,120 in the first week of October, as production of the third-generation ES8 continued to ramp up.

The sales increase was driven by the new three-row SUV, which remained Nio’s top-selling model.

Looking at the brand’s flagship model, the ET9, deliveries for the full month of September remained at fewer than 100 units — for the third consecutive month.

Sub-brand Onvo accounted for 3,300 registrations, roughly flat compared with 3,320 a week earlier, sustaining demand for its L60 and newly launched L90 SUVs.

Earlier this week, Onvo extended delivery times for both its models in China, with new orders now facing a waiting period that can surpass two months.

According to the brand’s website on Monday, the five-seat L60 SUV now has an estimated delivery window of seven to nine weeks, up from four to six weeks previously.

Orders placed this week for either of Onvo’s two models are expected to be delivered in the first half of December.

The vehicles are built at one of Nios EV plants in Hefei, Anhui Province, and it remains unclear whether the longer waiting times stem from stronger demand or production and supply-chain constraints.

The refreshed version of the L60, a minor facelift aimed at boosting demand, was launched late last month with deliveries expected to start gradually in mid-to-late October.

Prices remain unchanged, with the single-motor 60-kWh version starting at 206,900 yuan ($28,950) and the dual-motor variant priced at 226,900 yuan ($31,770).

Firefly, Nio’s third brand targeting a younger and tech-oriented audience, logged 950 registrations, compared with 1,000 units in the prior week.

The brand launched over the weekend a new limited edition of its debut model, capped at 666 units.

The company’s total placed it behind Tesla, which sold 11,300 vehicles during the same week, as well as the Stellantis-backed Leapmotor and Aito, which registered 9,300 and 8,500 units, respectively.

The tech giant Xiaomi followed closely with 7,400 registrations.

On the last day of September 30, Nio’s Assistant Vice President of Brand and Communication Ma Lin said in a WeChat message that the number “seems a little bit lacking” — when commenting on a rumour of over 10,000 weekly orders reached in the prior week.

Nio delivered a record 34,749 vehicles globally in September, including 13,728 under its main brand, 15,246 Onvo models, and 5,775 Firefly cars.

Each of the remaining three months of 2025 are expected to bring new monthly records after the management set the Q4 delivery target to 150,000 units.
