Nio Group Says it Expects to Deliver Between 32K and 35K EVs in March

Nio reported its fourth-quarter earnings results on Tuesday, posting its first profitable quarter ever — as previously announced on February 5.

As of press time, the company’s stock was jumping over 5% on Tuesday’s pre-market session, trading at $5.17.

In addition to the results, the company said it expects first-quarter deliveries to account for between 80,000 and 83,000 vehicles.

The forecast represents a 90.1%—97.2% increase from the 42,094 vehicles delivered in the same period a year ago.

The Group — including the Nio, Onvo and Firefly brands — registered 47,979 vehicles in the first two months of the year.

The figures imply that the EV maker is expecting to deliver between 32,021 and 35,021 vehicles in March alone.

First Two Months

The Nio Group delivered 20,797 vehicles in February, a 57.6% increase year over year and a drop from January’s 27,182 units.

Of those, 15,159 were delivered by its main premium brand alone, representing a 65.8% jump from a year ago.

In January, however, Nio brand’s deliveries alone reached 20,894 vehicles — above the group’s total in February.

Production and sales are usually disrupted by the Chinese New Year Holiday period, making February one of the weakest months of the year.

China’s Passenger Car Association (CPCA) recently warned that February would see “the year’s absolute trough,” as the nine-day holiday — the longest on record — left only 16 working days last month, three fewer than the previous year.

Additionally, the organization said companies were planning most launches for the post-holiday period, which contributed to “short-term volatility in both orders and deliveries.”

This includes the Nio Group, which is scheduled to unveil two new models in April — the upcoming flagship SUV Nio ES9 and the five-seat Onvo L80.

All-new ES8

Since production picked up in the last two months of 2025, the all-new Nio ES8 has represented the majority of the EV maker’s deliveries.

In January, the all-new ES8 accounted for 17,646 out of the 20,894 units delivered by the brand, representing a 84.5% share of the Nio brand’s registrations and 64.9% across the group.

Last month, the three-row SUV represented 74.3% of the brand’s deliveries and 54.1% of the Nio Group‘s total.

Users who order the ES8 on Tuesday can expect a delivery time of approximately 3–4 weeks, down from the 24–26 weeks estimated by the time of launch, as output keeps up with demand.

The shorter delivery wait and a slower growth in delivery milestones could indicate that demand for the model is stabilizing, as the company prepares to unveil the ES9 SUV on April 9.

Upcoming Model Launches

The ES9 will take over as Nio’s flagship SUV from the ES8, which has held that position since becoming the brand’s first mass-produced vehicle in May 2018.

The official launch event is scheduled for late May, with deliveries beginning in June, co-founder and President Qin Lihong stated late last month.

According to Lihong, the company will unveil the five-seat Onvo L80 in mid-April, with deliveries set to coincide with the anniversary of the brand on May 15 — which is also the World Family Day.

In addition to the ES8 and ES9, Nio will debut a new version of the five-seat SUV ES7 later this year, after halting deliveries of the model last year on weak sales figures.

Founder and CEO William Li revealed last week that “upcoming updates for 2026 ET5, ET5T, ES6, EC6, and special editions will also be released” later this year.
