Nio Group has registered five electric vehicles in Austria last month, according to data published by Statistik Austria on Tuesday.
January was the company’s first full month of deliveries since its market launch in November, with both its main premium brand and the Firefly sub-brand.
The Shanghai-headquartered EV maker delivered its first vehicle in Austria by mid-December, as previously reported by EV.
Another five units were registered in November, followed by five more in December.
Neither source provides a breakdown by model for the Austrian market.
Market Details
Nio‘s distributor in the country is Hungarian-based AutoWallis, which also represents the Chinese EV maker in Hungary.
Later this year, AutoWallis will add Czech Republic, Romania, and Poland to the list.
As exclusively reported by EV earlier this month, Poland has recently been added as a new country profile in the International Nio App, signaling the expansion to the Polish market in the upcoming months.
Nio held the media launch event in Vienna in November, marking the official arrival of the group in the Central European country a month after first going live with the local website.
The company introduced the Firefly debut model in the country with a starting price of €29,990 ($34,500).
Additionally, it revealed that Nio‘s lineup in Austria would include its two entry-level ET5 and ET5 Touring, and the EL6 SUV.
The ET5 is priced from €59,990 ($71,500) in Austria, while the station wagon ET5 Touring begins at €60,990 ($72,700). The entry-level EL6 SUV starts from €64,990 ($77,400).
The new EL8 (known as ES8 in its domestic market), for which the third generation was launched in China last September, has not been confirmed to arrive in the European markets.

Of the total 22,929 cars sold, hybrids accounted for 8,275 units, a 46.1% jump from a year before. The powertrain had a 36% market share.
In the first month of 2026, 4,702 fully electric vehicles were registered in the country, a 23% surge from January 2025.

Nio in Europe
Nio is now present across ten European markets.
It first entered the continent in 2021, through Norway, with expansion to the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and Denmark following a year later.
In these initial markets, the Shanghai-based company opened several showrooms, through which it sells directly to customers.
Last year, Nio introduced a new business model aimed at boosting demand across Europe and lowering fixed costs, partnering with local dealerships rather than operating its own retail network.
Through this approach, Nio introduced both its main brand and the more recent Firefly into Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Austria and Hungary.
The company also relaunched in Denmark with a local partner.
In January, the company registered 30 vehicles across its four major markets, a 92% plunge from December’s 387 units.
In Germany, Europe’s largest auto market, Nio reached a 3 year-low with just one vehicle registered in January, while Swedish sales amounted to zero.
Its registrations fell 71% in Norway to eight vehicles, while the Netherlands saw a 21% increase year over year to 17 units.
Last month, Nio registered one vehicle in Denmark, two in Belgium and seven in Portugal.
As of Tuesday, data from Hungary and Greece had not yet been reported.
