Nio Delivers Over 10,000 EVs in China for Second Consecutive Week

Nio Group delivered about 10,300 electric vehicles in China last week, the second consecutive week above the 10,000 mark as production ramp up of the best selling models continues.

The main Nio brand accounted for more than 4,300 units, while its sub-brand Onvo delivered about 4,500 and Firefly more than 1,500, according to CarFans platform founder Sun Shaojun.

The L90 reached 30,000 cumulative deliveries over the weekend, 86 days after deliveries began.

As of Tuesday morning, the ES8 continues to show a delivery waiting time of 22 to 23 weeks, slightly down from 24 to 26 weeks a week earlier.

Orders placed now are scheduled for delivery in April as the company works through a large order backlog.

Shaojun had reported last week that the group delivered over 10,600 vehicles across its three brands between October 13–19.

Nio is expected to report on November 1 its third consecutive month of record deliveries.

The group delivered 31,305 vehicles in August and 34,749 in September, and management said in early September it aims to deliver about 150,000 vehicles globally across the three months through year-end, with more than 95% expected to come from its domestic market.

Output is set to increase further as ramp-up continues at Nio’s third manufacturing site in Changfeng County, Hefei.

The facility, covering about 1,600 acres, has not been officially announced but is understood to have started operations.

In a September 29 internal letter, the company asked for support to the local Government of Hefei to fill around 1,000 vacancies by the end of October as demand for new models grows.

Chief Executive William Li told mid- to senior-level managers in an internal meeting earlier this month that the group remains focused on three priorities: raising sales of the ES8 and Onvo L90, improving supply chain stability and cost control, and ensuring timely software updates.

He reiterated the goal of achieving profitability in the current quarter.
