Nio Brand Sales Rise 30% Sequentially in Fourth Week of July

Nio’s core brand recorded a 30% weekly increase in vehicle sales in the fourth week of July, with 3,250 insurance registrations across China, according to data shared on Chinese social media on Tuesday.

Nio brand registrations for the week ending July 27 rebounded from 2,500 units in the prior week and 2,410 in week two — which marked the lowest level since the beginning of the second quarter.

Including its sub-brands Onvo and Firefly, the group registered a total of 4,996 vehicles last week, up 2.0% from 4,900 the week before.

Based on these figures, Onvo and Firefly jointly accounted for 1,746 units last week — down from 2,400 the previous week — although individual brand breakdowns had not been released as of publication time.

The uptick comes as the electric vehicle maker rolls out aggressive discounts on select models to accelerate inventory clearance.

As exclusively reported by EV last week, Nio is offering discounts of up to 190,000 yuan ($26,480) on the ET7 sedan and EC7 coupe SUV. The offer applies specifically to the 75 kWh battery subscription versions of both models.

Under the current promotion, the ET7 is priced from 230,000 yuan ($32,040) and the EC7 from 260,000 yuan ($36,220), compared to their original list prices of 420,000 yuan ($58,500) and 488,000 yuan ($68,000), respectively.

Nio’s main brand delivered 14,593 vehicles in June, marking a 10% sequential increase. However, year-on-year volumes declined for the second consecutive month.

In June 2024, the brand delivered a record 21,209 vehicles, making last month’s figure a 31.2% decline compared to a year earlier.

Nio founder and CEO William Li said during the company’s May earnings call that the core brand is targeting 25,000 monthly deliveries in the final quarter of 2025.

Earlier this month, Nio also unveiled the Champion Edition for several models in its lineup. The variants are aimed at celebrating the company’s championship title in the 2015 Formula E.

The ET5 and ET5T Champion Editions are priced from 316,000 yuan ($44,000) if including the battery, or 246,000 yuan ($34,300) if choosing to lease it — both 18,000 yuan ($2,500) above their standard versions.

The EC6 coupe SUV also got a Champion Edition, with prices starting at 370,000 yuan ($51,600) with the battery and 300,000 yuan ($41,800) if choosing Nio‘s battery as a service program.

The three models, plus the ES6 SUV, were last upgraded in May. Its main difference from the previous iteration is the chip, as the EV maker replaced Nvidia’s Orin for its Shenji chip.

The revamped version of the ES8 SUV will be officially unveiled at the EV maker’s annual event, which was anticipated for late September.
