Nio‘s sub-brand Onvo announced Tuesday it will open one hundred stores across China on the first day of September as it prepares to start deliveries of L60, its inaugural model, later in the month.

The Onvo brand officially launched earlier this year on May 15, and the first vehicle rolled off the line two weeks ago, on August 15.

The first batch of stores will cover 55 cities across 23 Chinese provinces with nearly all of them being located right next to stores from the parent brand Nio allowing the brands to share after sales.

By the end of the year, Nio expects to have over 350 service centers in 200 cities nationwide capable of maintaining Onvo vehicles. The company also plans to open dedicated Onvo service centers based on user demand.

The L60 has, as its main competitor, the world’s best selling model Tesla Model Y. The company led by Elon Musk will deliver a revamped version in early next year while the 7 seat version is expected to arrive later in the year.

In Shanghai, the home of the EV maker, eleven stores will open next week, Onvo shared in its App.

In addition to the brand’s official orange color and the traditional black and white, the sports utility vehicle has now been announced in blue.

The first units are expected to be delivered on the last days of September, one week after the launch event.

Onvo will officially launch their first model, the L60, on September 19, after which they’ll become available for purchase across China. One week later,

The final official price remains unknown as customers and shareholders speculate about the cost of the version with Battery as a Service (BAAS), which offers a lower initial buying price.

The pre-sale price of the L60 stands at 219,900 yuan, equivalent to $31,000 with the battery included. The pricing for the battery as a service (BaaS) version will be only announced at the event in late September.
