Nio‘s sub-brand Firefly launched a new limited edition of its debut model on Saturday, priced from 96,800 yuan ($13,600) under the Battery-as-a-Service plan and capped at 666 units.
Called the “Nocturnal Creature” edition, full-vehicle purchase starts at 136,800 yuan ($19,230), with a small number of units immediately available.
The new limited edition features a Dark Night Black exterior using a deep metallic paint designed to shimmer subtly under night light while showing richer tones in daylight, according to the brand.
It retains Firefly’s dual-tone design, combining a sense of mystery with dynamic styling.
The new variant adds exclusive white rally-inspired decals and Daylight White multi-spoke alloy wheels modeled after classic racing rims.
It also includes a G-Force handling package with red high-rigidity springs and dampers for sharper response.
“Specially-tuned red high-rigidity springs combined with dampers keep the vehicle sharp yet composed while driving, delivering a purer sense of driving pleasure,” the brand stated in a social media post.
Other highlights include a luminous NFC key card that lights up when unlocking and four interior color options.
The car measures 4,003 mm in length, 1,781 mm in width, and 1,557 mm in height, with a 2,615 mm wheelbase. It is powered by a 105 kW single-motor setup available in Standard and Long Range versions.
Firefly’s debut model was designed primarily for Europe and began deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands in August, though volumes remain minimal as of early October.
A previous limited edition launched in August, restricted to 333 units, sold out in 30 hours.
That version was displayed in 48 Nio showrooms across China and priced from 93,800 yuan ($13,200) plus a 399-yuan monthly battery rental, about 14,000 yuan above the base model.
Firefly delivered a record 5,775 vehicles in September, a 32.9% increase from August.
The company aims to deliver an average of 6,700 units a month over the next year, the management hinted last month as it set the goal of achieving 100,000 customers by this time in 2026.
