Nio announced Friday it is partnering with the United Arab Emirates’ largest telecommunications provider e& in the Middle East and North Africa regions.

E&, also known as “Etisalat and”, operates in 32 countries across the Middle East, Asia and Africa and offers in-vehicle connectivity services including in-vehicle Wi-Fi.

The company’s technology supports connected and autonomous vehicles by enabling real-time data access, telematics, and in-vehicle Wi-Fi, which provide businesses with critical insights for fleet management.

On the social media platform X, the company wrote, “We are proud to collaborate with @eAndUAE in a new and important partnership focused on innovative connectivity and luxury electric vehicle solutions,”

“This partnership marks a pivotal moment in shaping the future of smart mobility and enhancing the driving experience for users in the UAE and the Middle East and North Africa region,” the company added.

As reported earlier this Friday, the company opened its first pop-up store in the Middle East, ahead of a planned launch event later this month.

Nio announced in early October it formed a joint venture with its major investor, the Abu Dhabi-based CYVN Holdings, to enter the Middle East and the North Africa (MENA) markets.

The first showroom will be located at the Galleria Al Maryah Island, the second largest mall in the United Arab Emirates.

The company also unveiled plans to establish local production, marking its first manufacturing facility outside China.

The region’s first battery swap station is planned next to the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit.
