Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Nio announced on Thursday that delivered 20,498 vehicles in July, including 11,964 SUVs and 8,534 sedans.
The result represents an increase of 0.17% year over year and a decline of 3.3% from June, when the company reached a new record delivering 21,209 units.
Despite the slow increase from July 2023, the company saw its monthly sales surpassing 20 thousand units for the third consecutive month.

In the second quarter of the year, the company led by William Li delivered 57,373 units, a growth of 143.90 percent.
Nio US-listed shares are trading 0.68% higher at $4.44 immediately after the numbers release.

In an interview amid the NioIN, the annual tech-focused from Nio, Li addressed the future of autonomous driving, particularly focusing on Robotaxi as Tesla prepares to unveil its CyberCab on October 10.

Li emphasized that the true value of autonomous driving lies in enhancing safety and freeing up human energy rather than displacing drivers from their jobs.
“The technology for Robotaxi will definitely mature from a technical perspective; I have no doubt about that. If Robotaxi cannot be realized, then there’s no point in talking about artificial intelligence (AI) —it will definitely mature, sooner or later,” he stated.
