German automaker Mercedes-Benz announced on Thursday that it will debut its fully electric CLA 250+ model at the Montreal Auto Show in Canada.
The event will take place between Friday (January 16) and January 25.
The four-seat electric coupé’s Canadian debut follows its European launch held last May with other international markets following later in the year.
The new model will join the Mercedes-Benz battery-electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio, which includes eight models available in Canada – six sedans and two SUVs.
According to the Stuttgart-headquartered company, its stand at the Montreal Auto Show will include, alongside the new CLA 250+, the G 580 with EQ Technology, as well as the fully electric eSprinter and the Mercedes-Benz eBike.
The GLC 350e and GLC 450e plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) will also be displayed.
CLA 250+ Details
Equipped with a 85.5kWh battery pack, the CLA 250+ with EQ technology model offers a WLTP range of 792 km – equivalent to 492 miles.
Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the model supports DC fast charging at up to 353 kW.
The model can recharge up to 325 km (202 miles) within 10 minutes and has an energy consumption of 12.2–14.1 kWh per 100 km. It goes from 0 to 100km/h in 6.6 seconds.
In the US, the CLA 250+ is currently available from $48,600 with destination fee included.
In Mercedes-Benz‘s domestic market, the model starts at €55,859 – equivalent to $64,854.
Canadian Charging Network
Amidst the debut of its CLA 250+ model in Canada, Mercedes-Benz launched earlier this week its charging network in the country.
In the US, the brand’s infrastructure includes over 650 stalls.
Eight high-power charging hubs will be rolled out across Greater Vancouver and southern British Columbia, with three sites — Abbotsford, Pitt Meadows, and Tsawwassen — already open.
Each hub is equipped with 400 kW Italy-based Alpitronic fast chargers, which can add up to a range of 303 km (188 miles) in approximately ten minutes for compatible vehicles, such as the upcoming CLA 250+ model.
The network, which supports 800-volt architectures, features a four-cable system at every stall, offering both CCS-1 and NACS connectors, so that any EV can charge at any station without an adapter.
In Canada, Mercedes-Benz sold 31,299 passenger vehicles throughout last year. Also including vans, the 2025 total was 37,382 units.
New-energy vehicles (NEV) – which include both BEVs and PHEVs – accounted for 4,563 units, representing 12% of the German automaker’s overall 2025 sales.
The GLC model ranked first again, with 8,747 registrations in 2025 — followed by the GLE with 6,239 units.
2025 Global EV Sales
Mercedes-Benz listed a total of 168,800 fully electric passenger vehicles globally last year.
The figures dropped 9% from the 185,100 units registered in 2024.
However, BEV sales grew 3% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2025, due to the new CLA coupé’s launch.
Additionally, of the units registered last year, 368,600 were PHEVs — rising by 9% from 2024.
NEVs represented nearly 30% of Mercedes-Benz‘s global sales in 2025, with a total of 537,400 units.
