Electric carmaker Lucid Motors set a new U.S. monthly sales record in December, marking its second consecutive monthly high with 780 units sold, an increase from the 712 vehicles sold in November.

Compared to December 2023, the EV maker saw its sales rise by 46%, according to Motor Intelligence estimates released on Friday.

Lucid’s U.S. sales are estimated to have risen for the third consecutive month, with December figures bringing fourth-quarter sales to 2,162 units and total 2024 U.S. sales to 7,578 vehicles.

At its third-quarter earnings call, Lucid reiterated its annual production target of 9,000 units. The EV maker is expected to report its fourth-quarter production and delivery figures on Monday, January 6, according to estimates.

Lucid’s average selling price declined nearly 15% in the third quarter to approximately $71,500, according to Morgan Stanley, following the rollout of global promotions and the sale of lower-priced demo vehicles in the U.S. earlier this year.

Lucid’s chief executive, Peter Rawlinson, ended 2024 by taking delivery of his own Gravity SUV, becoming one of the first owners of the company’s second model. The EV maker shared the moment on social media, calling it an “extra special delivery” to close out the year.

Tesla’s sales rose 12% sequentially in December to 57,700 units (from 51,513), while Rivian figures increased a 5% increase to 3,795 vehicles — from 3,625 in November.

Polestar’s sales increased 11% in December to 830 after having fallen 25% in November. Ford and General Motors reported sales of 178,630 (up from 156,139) and 274,077 vehicles (up from 243,216), respectively, including internal combustion engine (ICE), battery electric (BEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models.

Ford’s U.S. sales in 2024 increased by 4.2% rise to 2,078,832 units, up from the 1,995,912 units it sold in 2023.
