Electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid Motors has been making its debut model cheaper and cheaper since it delivered the first units on October 30, 2021.

With a price war started by Tesla in January 2023 —with reductions across its lineup going up to 20%— several EV makers across the globe started adjusting their prices to maintain the competitiveness of the products.

Whether through temporary incentives, new variants that have lower starting prices, or definitive price cuts, the starting price from the luxurious sedan Lucid Air dropped recently to $69,900.

This week, Lucid has listed on its website demo vehicles with hundreds or a dozen of thousands of miles driven with prices starting at $56,998. One of the cheapest ones listed is a 2023 Lucid Air Pure with 13,071 miles with an EPA estimated range of 410 miles and 480hp.

Paying $1,000 more, customers can get a similar Air sedan with 1,703 miles driven — the website shows.

Drone footage from late July by an enthusiast revealed approximately 800 vehicles parked in one of the parking lots of the company’s factory in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Last month, the company introduced a new leasing incentive of $7,500 Air Credit for customers in the United States. This offer is in addition to the existing $4,000 bonus available for inventory vehicles.

In June, the company offered an Air Credit that was 50 percent lower ($3,750) for new customers in the country, while the inventory bonus was $1,000 higher, at $5,000.

In the second quarter of the year, the company delivered 2,394 vehicles while producing 2,110 units. For the full year, Lucid expects to produce 9,000 vehicles.
