Lucid Sells Zero Air Sedans in Norway for Fourth Consecutive Month

Lucid Motors registered a total of 19 vehicles in Norway in 2025, of which 18 were its debut Air sedan, as the company prepares to begin deliveries of the Gravity SUV across Europe in the next few weeks.

Demand in Norway, the country with the highest EV adoption rate in the world, remains minimal.

According to both data platforms Elbilstatistikk and EU-EVs, December marked the fourth consecutive month with zero sales of the company’s luxury sedan in the Norwegian market.

In Norway, the entry-level Air Pure starts at NOK 959,000 ($95,340), a price that was lowered earlier this year as the company aimed to drive demand — from NOK 1,120,150 ($111,360).

The Touring version is priced from NOK 1,109,000 ($110,260) and the Grand Touring from NOK 1,319,000 ($131,130).

The fully spec’d Air Sapphire is also available in the market, priced at NOK 2.77 million ($275,390).

Gravity Debut

No Lucid Gravity vehicles were registered in December.

In the previous month, however, one Gravity was registered, according to the data platforms.

Since the company has not yet started customer deliveries in the country, the vehicle previously registered was likely intended for showroom display or media purposes and not a customer delivery.

Lucid made the European debut of the large SUV in September, opening orders across its four markets.

The Gravity Grand Touring, its higher-end trim, is priced from NOK 1.249 million ($124,170) in Norway.

The Touring trim is priced from NOK 1.049 million ($104,290). Orders for the variant opened last month.

Lucid entered the Norwegian market in early 2023, with a showroom in Oslo. Since then, it has registered a total of 28 vehicles.

Norway Auto Market in 2025

Last month, 35,188 vehicles were sold in Norway, totaling 179,550 units in 2025.

Of these, 95.9% were battery electric vehicles (BEV), seven percentage points above 2024.

Norway is the leading country in the world when it comes to EV adoption. Nearing the completion of its goal of having all vehicles be fully electric by 2025, the government is now cutting back on EV subsidies.

Tesla is the best-selling brand across all powertrains, with over 5,000 vehicles sold in December alone and a total of 34,285 units in 2025.

Other EV makers in the country include premium Geely-backed Polestar, which sold 3,989 vehicles last year, and Shanghai-based Nio Group, which registered 85 premium vehicles from its main marque and 69 Firefly EVs.

European Expansion

Lucid established its European headquarters in the Netherlands in 2021, ahead of the market launch. Since then, the company has entered Germany, Norway and Switzerland.

As of press time, monthly registrations for the German, Dutch and Swiss markets have not yet been disclosed.

The US brand is planning to expand into eight additional European markets in 2026, tripling its footprint to 12 countries.

At the same time, the company is introducing a new business model in emerging markets, by including dealerships to its direct-to-consumer showrooms.

While the Dutch, Norwegian, and Swiss markets are expected to remain showroom-only markets, the company said late last year it is switching to a mixed business model in Germany.

Among the next wave of market entries will be France, according to interim CEO Marc Winterhoff.

Lucid‘s chief for the European region Lawrence Hamilton revealed that Belgium and Denmark will be included as well.

In November, the first Lucid vehicles were registered in Spain ahead of its expansion to the Southern European country.

As of December 31, four units of the brand’s Air sedan had been listed in the market.
