Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors sold 13 units of its first production model, the Lucid Air, in Germany during May, according to data released by the German Federal Motor Transport Association (KBA) on Wednesday.

The results a significant decrease from April, when the company registered 26 units of the Air model. Year-to-date, Lucid‘s sales in Germany total 50 vehicles, with 11 units sold in the first quarter of the year. In Europe, the company is currently operating in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.

The KBA also reported that the overall registration of passenger cars in Germany fell to 236,425 units in May, marking a month-over-month and year-over-year decline.

The company has recently signed a partnership in Europe with the electric vehicle charging company Wallbox to offer the Wallbox Pulsar Max charger, which provides up to 22kW of charging power, to its customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.

Lucid has recently opened new service centers in Munich and Zurich and plans to open additional showrooms in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart.

Globally, Lucid delivered 1,967 vehicles in the first quarter, marking a nearly 40 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Over 500 of these vehicles were delivered to Saudi Arabia, as disclosed by CEO Peter Rawlinson during a recent earnings conference call.

According to a video posted on X, the company has started the shipping of the first Saudi Arabia-made Lucid Air luxurious sedans from its newly established manufacturing facility in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Rabigh.

Last week, the manufacturer expanded its presence in the UAE by opening a new showroom at Dubai’s City Walk. This follows the late 2022 launch of the Riyadh Studio, which marked the company’s first retail location in the Middle East.

The shipment includes 350 vehicles, marking a significant milestone for the electric vehicle (EV) maker as it expands its footprint in the Gulf region, according to a video posted on X.

This first shipment is destined for the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries, a user noted on X, highlighting the broader reach of Lucid’s innovative electric vehicles (EVs) in the region.
