Lucid Registrations in Germany Hit 9-Month High in July

Lucid Motors registered 46 vehicles in Germany in July, the highest monthly figure since November 2024, according to data published on Tuesday by the country’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).

The California-based EV maker had not recorded more than 45 units in a single month since October and November last year, when registrations exceeded 100 vehicles each month following a fleet deal with the German rental company Sixt.

Lucid did not disclose how many vehicles were sold under the agreement.

The July figure marks a sharp rebound from the same month last year, when Lucid registered just eight vehicles. The company posted 73 registrations in the first half of 2025.

Germany’s overall vehicle market saw 264,802 new vehicle registrations in July.

Battery electric vehicles accounted for 48,614 units, representing an 18.4% market share and a 58% increase compared to July 2024.

Hybrid models, including plug-in hybrids, reached 102,369 units, or 38.7% of the total — meaning nearly two in every five vehicles sold in Germany last month were hybrids.

The improvement in Lucid’s German registrations comes ahead of the European launch of its Gravity SUV, the company’s most recent model.

In an email to customers last month, Lucid said preparations for the model’s European rollout were underway, although no timeline was provided for orders, configurations, or deliveries.

Based on the WLTP testing cycle, the Gravity will offer a range of up to 748 kilometers and 839 horsepower.

As part of its validation program, the SUV recently completed a 5,000-mile endurance drive from Munich to the Arctic Circle and was seen undergoing testing at the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany.

Lucid registered a combined 27 vehicles across Germany, Norway, Switzerland, and the Netherlands in June, according to EU-EVs and national data.

The company currently operates showrooms in eight European cities: Oslo, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, Hilversum, and Zurich, where a new location is expected to open later this year.

Lucid plans to expand to the UK, France, Italy, and Spain over the next 18 months, according to comments made in June by Lawrence Hamilton, Managing Director for Europe.

Belgium and Denmark have also been identified as target markets.

Lucid is scheduled to report its second-quarter earnings later on Tuesday, after the market closes.
