Lucid Motors registered 18 vehicles across its four European markets in January, with Germany accounting for the majority at 11 units.
The premium EV maker continues to struggle with demand in the Old Continent ahead of its planned expansion into eight additional markets this year.
The figures, compiled by EV from official registration data, show Switzerland with five registrations, while the Netherlands and Norway each recorded a single unit.
Total registrations fell by one unit compared to January 2025.
According to data from EU-EVs, Switzerland accounted for all three Gravity SUVs registered across Europe in January, alongside two Air sedans.
The Netherlands and Norway each registered one Air sedan, while a model breakdown for Germany was not available as of Friday morning.
Vehicle registrations differ from customer deliveries, as they can include test drive vehicles, showroom units, or press cars.
The EV maker has not announced the start of European customer deliveries for the Gravity, despite management confirming in September that European production of the SUV was already underway.
Germany
Lucid registered 11 vehicles in January in Europe’s largest automotive market, down eight units from a year earlier.
A breakdown by model was not available in the EU-EVs platform as of Friday morning.
Germany was Lucid’s second European market after Norway.
The company opened its first German studio in Munich in late 2022, followed by locations in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.
Lucid hosted the European debut of the Gravity SUV at the IAA Auto Show in Munich last September.
The company is preparing to shift from a direct sales model to a hybrid approach that will include local dealer partnerships in Germany and other existing markets.
Switzerland
Switzerland registered five vehicles in January — three Gravity SUVs and two Air sedans — up from zero a year ago, according to EU-EVs.
Lucid opened its first retail location in Switzerland in November 2022 in Geneva, making it one of the company’s earliest European markets.
The three Gravity registrations were likely for press, test drive, or showroom purposes, as Lucid has not announced the start of customer deliveries in Europe.
Netherlands
The Netherlands recorded just one registration in January — a Gravity SUV — with zero Air sedans sold, according to EU-EVs.
It marked the second time in three months that the brand registered zero Air sedans in a month.
Lucid established its European headquarters in the Netherlands in 2021 as it prepared to enter the continent.
The company opened its first European service, delivery, and sales center in the country in the final weeks of 2022.
The weak result came as the Dutch EV market declined 35.4% year over year to 7,165 units in January, according to industry associations RAI, BOVAG, and RDC.
EV market share fell to 25.3% from 34% a year earlier as the country’s motor vehicle tax exemption for zero-emission passenger cars was replaced with a 30% discount effective January 1, 2026.
Lucid registered 53 vehicles in the Netherlands in 2025, a slight increase from 47 units in 2024.
Norway
Norway posted one registration in January — an Air sedan — up from zero a year earlier, according to EU-EVs. No Gravity SUVs were registered in the country.
Lucid entered the Norwegian market in early 2023 with a showroom in Oslo, making Norway its first European market.
The company has registered a total of 33 vehicles in the country since launch, according to data from Elbilstatistikk, of which four were parallel imports.
Norwegian vehicle sales dropped 77% in January, largely driven by the end of EV purchase incentives at the close of 2025 — causing a sales crash across nearly all carmakers.
Prices for the Air Pure start at NOK 950,000 ($99,000), while the Gravity Grand Touring is priced from NOK 1.249 million ($129,300).
European Expansion
Lucid currently sells its Air sedan in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Norway.
The company announced this week it will officially launch in Belgium this summer.
Denmark will follow later this year alongside France and five other markets, as the company plans to expand into eight additional European countries in 2026.
The UK, Italy, and Spain are also among the confirmed markets.
Lucid‘s EU chief said the EV maker remains committed to European growth as it shifts to a hybrid business model that will include local dealerships for faster, lower-cost expansion.
“And Belgium is just the beginning. We remain committed to growing our presence across both existing and new markets in Europe,” the executive wrote on LinkedIn.
Gravity Deliveries Delayed
Lucid has yet to deliver any Gravity SUVs to European customers, missing the January timeline its management set at the vehicle’s official European launch last September.
At the IAA Auto Show in Germany, interim chief executive Marc Winterhoff told reporters including EV that the first SUVs would be delivered in January, with some units potentially reaching customers before the end of 2025.
“They will come by the end of this year and then be available for delivery — I believe — beginning of next year,” Winterhoff said at the time. “Maybe we can move one or two by the end of this year.”
According to Lucid’s Dutch website, some Gravity configurations show delivery waiting times of four to eight weeks, while others are listed for the second quarter.
