Lucid Registers 15 Vehicles in Germany for June, Totaling 65 for 2024

Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors sold 15 units of its first production model, the Lucid Air, in Germany during June, according to official data released by the German Federal Motor Transport Association (KBA).

June marks the second best month of 2024 for the California based EV maker after April, where it registered 26 units. Quarterly registrations have significantly improved to 54 vehicles, up from the 11 units registered in the first quarter of the year.

Year-to-date, Lucid‘s registrations in Germany total 65 vehicles. The company has recently opened new service centers in Munich and Zurich and plans to open additional showrooms in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart.

In Europe, Lucid is currently present in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.

In June, 43,412 new electric (BEV) cars were registered in Germany, marking an 18.1 percent decline compared to the same month last year, representing 14.6 percent of total registrations.

Over the first six months of the year, BEV registrations fell by 16.4 percent year-over-year. Conversely, hybrid vehicle registrations reached 87,970 in June, up 12.4 percent from the same month last year, accounting for 29.6 percent of total registrations in the country.

The company has recently signed a partnership in Europe with the electric vehicle charging company Wallbox to offer the Wallbox Pulsar Max charger, which provides up to 22kW of charging power, to its customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.

In an email sent on Monday, the company announced that was introducing a new leasing incentive of $7,500 Air Credit for customers in the United States. This offer is in addition to the existing $4,000 bonus available for inventory vehicles.

Last month, the company offered an Air Credit that was 50 percent lower ($3,750) for new customers in the country, while the inventory bonus was $1,000 higher, at $5,000.

The EV maker is expected to publish the second-quarter production and delivery numbers over the next few days.
