Lucid Motors recorded its second consecutive month with over 100 new vehicle registrations in Germany. In November, the California-based EV maker registered 116 new Lucid Air sedans, bringing its total year-to-date registrations in the German market to 372 vehicles.

In October, the premium EV brand signed a purchase agreement with the German rental company SIXT to make its vehicles available for rental in the country. Lucid announced at the time that SIXT would receive cars from its entire Lucid Air lineup available in Europe, including the Air Pure, Air Touring, and Air Grand Touring models. Although the order size is unknown, Lucid had registered 127 units between January and September 2024, below the number of units recorded in october.

Year-to-date sales of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in Germany have fallen by 24.2%, a decline mainly attributed to the removal of EV incentives in the country at the end of last year.

Tesla registrations in Germany dropped 55% year over year to 2,208 units, while the newcomer in the German market BYD recorded 431 units, up 23% from a yeargo ago and up 24% sequentially.

A total of 35,167 BEVs were registered in Germany last month, a decrease of 21.8% from November 2023, reducing their market share to 14.4%. Registrations of hybrid vehicles increased 20.3% year over year to 94,554 units registered, including 20,604 plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

Lucid opened in October a showroom in Hamburg, its fourth in Germany and eighth in Europe, following the Frankfurt showroom’s launch in September. Lucid’s presence in Germany includes stores in Munich and Düsseldorf, which opened in May 2022 and September 2023, respectively.

U.S. sales hit a record 712 vehicles in November, according to Motor Intelligence estimates released Tuesday. Globally, the company said it aims to produce 9,000 units without mentioning any official target for vehicle deliveries.

As EV recently reported, the California-based EV maker is planning to deliver the first units of the Gravity SUV early next year.

Last month, Lucid started accepting orders in the U.S. for the higher trim of its second model, which starts at $94,500. The highly awaited $ 80,000 trim arrives in about a year, in late 2025.
