Lucid Motors sold zero units of its new Gravity SUV in July across the US, according to monthly estimates released Friday by Motor Intelligence, extending a streak of non-existent deliveries since April.
The California-based company delivered 890 units of its Air sedan in July, a 28% increase from the prior year and the third-highest monthly total of 2025, trailing only March and May.
Sales rose slightly from 840 units in June, according to Motor Intelligence, which categorizes the Air as a car and the Gravity as a truck.
Motor Intelligence data confirms that all Lucid sales last month were Air sedans.
Gravity deliveries remained at zero for the third consecutive month, following a peak of just 55 units in January and a sharp sequential decline in February (-45%) and March (-83%). April saw only five units delivered, with none recorded since.
In mid-July, Cox Automotive reported that Lucid sold five Gravity vehicles in the second quarter, matching Motor Intelligence’s estimates.
In early May, the interim Chief Executive Officer Marc Winterhoff admitted that the model has faced delays due to supply chain issues.
“While we encountered a modest supply chain bottleneck that had an impact on our timeline, the more important point is that we’re taking the time to get it right, not just getting it out,” Winterhoff said during the company’s first-quarter earnings call.
As exclusively reported on April 2, a source familiar with the matter told EV back then that April volumes would be “very small,” and that higher-volume output likely wouldn’t begin until “June or July.”
An update on the production ramp-up is expected at Lucid‘s second-quarter earnings call scheduled for next week, on September 5.
The model was first unveiled in November 2023 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Pre-production units rolled off the line eight months later, while final production units were completed eleven months after the initial debut.
Including 2,630 Air sedans sold in the same period, Lucid’s total US deliveries stood at 2,635 units in Q2, up 10% from a year earlier.
Globally, Lucid delivered 3,309 vehicles in the second quarter, representing a 38% year-on-year increase. However — and as previously done — the company does not break down production and sales by model.
The company aims to produce approximately 20,000 vehicles this year. To reach the target, the EV maker must double its output in the second half of 2025.
Aerial footage filmed in early July over Lucid’s Casa Grande, Arizona plant showed about 600 Gravity SUVs parked in the factory.
However, it is not possible to clarify how many are production-complete or awaiting shipment to its Saudi Arabia facility for semi-knocked down (SKD) assembly.
The seven-seat SUV will be launched in Europe in the next few months. Currently, the EV maker is present across the Netherlands, Norway, Germany and Switzerland.
While the Air sedan has shown more consistent performance, monthly US sales remain volatile.
Deliveries surged to 975 units in May before falling 14% to 840 in June and then recovering to 890 in July. March remains the strongest month of 2025 with 942 units sold, according to Motor Intelligence.
Tesla delivered 53,816 vehicles in the US last month, including 18,835 Model 3/S and 34,981 Model Y/Cybertrucks/Model Xs.
Rivian recorded 4,200 units, while Polestar reported 542 deliveries.
Total light vehicle sales in the US reached 1.41 million units in July, according to Motor Intelligence, including over 1.17 million SUVs/trucks and 239,000 cars.
Lucid Motors’ stock has nearly returned to pre-announcement levels, giving up all gains made after it revealed a robotaxi partnership with Uber and autonomous driving startup Nuro on July 17.
Under the deal, Lucid sold 20,000 Gravity SUVs to Uber over six years.
The shares closed down 1.6% at $2.62 on Friday, wiping out the rally triggered by the initial announcement.
