Lucid Motors registered four vehicles in the Netherlands in March, bringing its first-quarter total to just seven units.
With deliveries of its second model — the Gravity SUV — yet to be officially announced in the country, the figures show that it’s the third month with no Lucid Air sales in the market.
Since December — when 12 Air sedans were sold — Lucid registered seven Gravity SUVs: one in January, two in February and four in March.
It remains unclear whether they were customer deliveries or vehicles registered for showroom or press purposes.
This week, President of Lucid Europe Lawrence Hamilton announced on LinkedIn that the company is hosting a European Media Drive event of the Gravity SUV in Mallorca, Spain.
The management had said in September that it planned to begin European deliveries of the SUV in January.
However, the timeline was delayed as no announcement was made since then.
Lucid in the Netherlands
Lucid entered the Dutch market in late 2022, opening its first combined European retail, service, and delivery center in Hilversum, near Amsterdam.
The Newark, California-based EV maker had sold 15 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025.
The company debuted there with the Lucid Air sedan.
The model is priced from €88,900 — in its entry-level, Pure trim. The fully-spec’d Sapphire trim retails for €255,000.
Last September, the EV maker debuted its second model — the Gravity SUV — in Europe, opening orders for the Grand Touring variant, priced from €119,900.
A few months later, the configurator for the Gravity Touring was included, lowering the entry price of the model to €102,900.
Customers can lease either of the models with a 3.99% financing rate, according to the company’s website.
Lucid currently has multiple units of both the Air and Gravity models in stock.
Some are available for immediate delivery, while others may require a wait time extending into the second quarter.
In its domestic market, Lucid has closed the online configurator for its models as it prepares to release the 2027 iterations.
Lucid registered 53 vehicles in the Netherlands last year, a slight increase from 47 units in 2024, as demand for the Air sedan on the continent remains weaker than expected.
Three years after its official market launch, the company continues to struggle to ramp up sales.
Dutch EV Market
Electric vehicle sales in the Netherlands have been declining in the first two months of 2026, following policy changes.
The motor vehicle tax exemption for zero-emission passenger cars in the Netherlands was replaced with a 30% discount effective January 2026, dropping to 25% in 2029 before ending entirely in 2030.
Last quarter, 24,869 fully electric vehicles were sold in the Netherlands, representing 30.5% of the market. Hybrids continue to lead with a 58.4% share.
South Korean automaker Kia remained the best-selling brand in the country, with 7,391 vehicles registered between January and March.
The Tesla Model Y led EV sales with 1,619 registrations, followed by the Kia EV3, at 1,178 units.
Expansion
The Netherlands hosts Lucid‘s European headquarters, established in 2021, and is one of four markets it currently serves alongside Germany, Norway, and Switzerland.
Lucid plans to expand into eight additional European markets in 2026, tripling its continental footprint to 12 countries.
France, Belgium, and Denmark have been confirmed among the new markets.
Late last year, the first five Lucid models were registered in Spain — ahead of the market launch there.
They were all Air sedans. It remains unclear whether they were customer imports or vehicles registered for press purposes by the company.
“We are welcoming more than 40 influential automotive, national, and lifestyle media representatives as well as content creators from across Europe – spanning both our established markets and those we are preparing to enter,” Hamilton wrote.
The company is on schedule to begin production of its mid-size platform in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2026, through which it aims to expand to a more affordable segment.
Lucid announced during its inaugural Investor Day in March that the first model under the platform will be the ‘Cosmos’ — to be followed by the ‘Earth.’
