Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors said on Thursday it has partnered with the Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers (TAQEEM) to enhance repair quality, improve technical expertise, and ensure fair compensation for vehicle owners.
The EV maker said the collaboration aims to enhance the quality of repair services while also improving technical expertise and resources needed to manage spare parts pricing.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday at the Authority’s headquarters in Riyadh and it covers knowledge exchange, training collaboration, and the creation of educational materials about Lucid’s EV models.
The collaboration provides access to technical information on repair methods and specifications for Lucid vehicles, as well as support for “the integration and management of pricing for damaged electric vehicle parts.” In a statement, both parties said they’ll ensure fair compensation for vehicle owners following car accidents.
“We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on repair services and customer experience in SaudiArabia,” Lucid said on social media.
Last week, the company established its Middle East headquarters in Riyadh, the company announced on Wednesday. The new office is located in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) while the company’s global headquarters are in Newark, California and its European base is in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Earlier this month, the company delivered its first vehicles in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), its sixth market globally. There, the Lucid Air sedan starts at AED 309,750 ($84,300) including an AED 3,670 ($1,000) Charging Allowance and two years of complimentary Lucid Care scheduled maintenance, according to the EV maker’s website.
Despite having only one showroom in the UAE, Lucid’s vice-president and managing director of the Middle East region Faisal Sultan said that the company “had many reservations.” Lucid’s expansion plans include a massive service center in Dubai and upcoming sales and service facilities in Abu Dhabi.
