Luxury EV maker Lucid Motors announced Tuesday it signed a purchase agreement with the German rental firm SIXT to offer its model in the country.
The Lucid Air sedan, including the Pure, Touring, and Grand Touring variants, is now available for rental in Germany with prices starting at €999 per month on a minimum 360-day contract.
The EV manufacturer registered 41 vehicles in Germany in September, marking its strongest performance since entering the market.
Following the announcement of the purchase agreement with SIXT, the new record was likely due to the delivery of the first batch of Lucid sedans in the country. In August, Lucid had recorded 13 vehicles.

According to Sixt’s website, the Lucid Air can be rented for €999 per month with 500 km included, based on a minimum rental period of 360 days (around one year). The offer includes liability insurance, maintenance, winter tires, and 24/7 roadside assistance.

The 1,000 km package costs €1,079, equivalent to €12,948 per year.
For 30-day contracts, prices start at €1,309.

The Lucid Air Pure, the cheaper variant of the sedan, starts at €85,000 while the Air Touring starts at €99,000, and the Air Grand Touring variant at €129,000.
The Air Pure offers a WLTP range of 747 kilometers, powered by an 88 kWh battery pack, with an energy efficiency rating of 13.0 kWh per 100 kilometers.
“The introduction of Lucid into the SIXT fleet in Germany offers more drivers the opportunity to experience the outstanding performance, range, and comfort of our cars,” Lucid chief executive Peter Rawlinson said.
“As more have the opportunity to experience the Lucid Air, they will experience the only EV in the world which is equally at home on the Autobahn as on city streets,” Rawlinson added.
In 2022, SIXT said it would buy about 100,000 electric vehicles from China’s giant BYD under a partnership agreement signed by the two companies.
According to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, the California-based automaker closed the third quarter with 62 units sold, making it the best quarter so far.
Lucid opened a new showroom in the German city of Frankfurt last week, its third in the country, following locations in Munich and Dusseldorf.
Later this month, the company is also preparing to open another showroom in Hamburg in October, bringing the total number of stores to eight across Switzerland, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands.
