Lucid Eyes Expansion to UK, France, Italy, and Spain by End of 2026

As first reported by EV in December, electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors is preparing to enter the Belgian market.

Additionally, Denmark will also become one of the European markets for the Newark-headquartered EV maker.

In an interview with the Spanish media outlet Marca, Lucid’s Managing Director in Europe Lawrence Hamilton said the company expects to be present across the top five European markets over the next 18 months.

“Our priority over the next 18 months is to establish a presence in the five major European countries [editor’s note: Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Spain],” he stated.

“We’ve yet to enter these three Southern European markets because EV adoption is lagging in those regions,” Hamilton added.

While Lucid was recently spotted testing its upcoming Gravity SUV at Germany’s Nürburgring racetrack, the company has not yet disclosed when it plans to begin deliveries of the model in Europe.

According to the report, the Gravity SUV will be launched in Europe next year as the company expands to two new markets, including Belgium and Denmark.

Lucid Motors has postponed the European launch of its top-performance Air Sapphire sedan to the end of 2025, according to an update on the company’s website.

The luxury sedan was previously expected to arrive in the region in the first quarter of the year.

Lucid is preparing to adopt a dealership network business model in Europe while increasing the number of its showrooms.

Lucid’s interim CEO Marc Winterhoff said late last year, when serving as chief operations officer, that Lucid is planning additional locations in Germany, including new studios in Berlin and Stuttgart.

“We aim to operate between 10 and 12 locations across the country,” Winterhoff said.
