Lucid: Drone Footage Shows About 600 Gravity Vehicles at Arizona’s Factory

A recent drone flyover of Lucid Motors’ Casa Grande factory in Arizona suggests production of the Gravity SUV is accelerating, with about 600 units visible across several parking lots.

In the second half of the year, the EV maker must double its output from the January–June period to hit its 2025 production target of “approximately 20,000” vehicles.

The footage, captured on July 2 by YouTube user “Lucid Flys,” shows a marked increase in Gravity vehicles compared to a previous flyover filmed on the first days of June.

In the video, the user noted a reduced number of Lucid Air sedans on-site, indicating a potential shift in production focus toward the new SUV.

“Lots of Gravity awaiting transport to both KSA and North America,” he wrote in the video description while noting that the footage showed “fewer Lucid Airs than the previous flyover on June 4.”

Some of the vehicles observed — both Gravity SUVs and Air sedans — may be pre-assembled units awaiting shipment to Lucid’s AMP-2 plant in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia, for final assembly.

It is unclear how many of the roughly 600 units are fully built and ready for delivery versus those destined for completion overseas.

The footage follows a May social media post by Adrian Price, Lucid’s recently appointed senior vice president of operations, showing over 50 Gravity vehicles outside the Casa Grande facility.

Lucid confirmed earlier this year that it had shipped more than 600 Gravity units to Saudi Arabia in the first quarter. The model, which joins the Air sedan in Lucid’s lineup, starts at $96,550 including shipping, while the Air begins at $71,400.

Lucid’s interim CEO Marc Winterhoff acknowledged in a June interview that the Gravity’s production ramp has been “slower than desired,” attributing the delays to industry-wide tariff pressures and Lucid’s emphasis on “perfect quality.”

Still, he described customer feedback as “phenomenal.”

“As we speak, we’re delivering additional cars. And the feedback is phenomenal,” Winterhoff told Automotive News. “Twenty-five years working in the automotive industry, I’ve never seen that positive feedback.”

Lucid delivered 3,309 vehicles in the second quarter of 2025, a 38% increase year over year. The company has maintained its full-year production guidance of approximately 20,000 vehicles, although it has not issued delivery targets.

To meet that goal, Lucid must produce 13,325 vehicles in the second half of the year — effectively doubling its first-half output of 6,675 units. That includes 2,812 units built in Q1 and 3,863 in Q2, according to company filings.

Lucid continues to assemble partially built Gravity units at its Saudi plant, which is currently being upgraded to a full-scale production facility.

As of the time of writing, Lucid shares are trading 3% lower at $2.09, only 16 cents above the all time low reached late last year.

US President Donald Trump signed on Friday the “Big Beautiful Bill” eliminating the $7,500 EV Tax Credit from September 30. The $4,000 used EV credit is also ending by the end of September.
