Umit Sabanci, Ian Joynson, and Misha Nahorny have set a new Guinness World Record on Saturday for the most countries driven through in an electric vehicle (EV) on a single charge.
Driving a Lucid Air, the trio covered nine countries across Europe and a total of 912-kilometer (567 miles) route.

Besides the record-breaking attempt, it was a mission to raise funds for Guy’s Cancer Charity to “make a difference in the lives of those fighting cancer” and promote the adoption of green energy through electric vehicles.
Thanks to the 94 supporters, the trio has raised £4,800, slightly below the £5,000 target. The team emphasized the importance of supporting those battling cancer and encouraged donations.

“Your generous donations will help make a difference in the lives of those fighting cancer. Every contribution counts, no matter how small,” they stated. “Together, we can drive change and bring hope to those in need.”
Lucid Motors CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson has recently highlighted the company’s technological advancements, stating that Lucid has overtaken Tesla in the electric vehicle (EV) race.
He emphasized Lucid’s result in achieving five miles per kilowatt hour, a milestone he claims no other company has reached.
“We’ve been founded and formed as a company to really advance the state-of-the-art in electric vehicle technology,” Rawlinson stated during his presentation. “Today, I’d like to announce that we have finally achieved a major objective. We’ve managed to achieve a certified five miles per kilowatt-hour with one of our products. This is a landmark achievement validated by the EPA.”
The chief executive also highlighted Lucid’s long-term goal to achieve six miles per kWh, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability and technological innovation.
“Our objective as a company is to get to six miles per kilowatt-hour because nothing less than that is going to save the planet,” he said.
