Lucid Motors confirmed the departure of Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development Claudia Gast, minutes after EV first reported the news.
The confirmation was made in the same release that the Saudi-backed brand announced Neil Marsons has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain.
Marsons, who served as Group Chief Procurement Officer at Rolls-Royce, becomes the latest in a series of executive appointments as the Saudi-backed automaker prepares to launch its cheapest model.
“As we prepare Lucid for its next phase of growth and focus on optimizing resources on a path toward profitability, Neil’s decades of leadership will help strengthen the reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of our supply chain,” Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff said.
The EV maker said on Monday that Marsons has been serving Lucid “over the past six months […] in an advisory capacity.”
“In today’s dynamic environment, supply chain excellence is critical to success, and in his short time at Lucid, Neil has already positively impacted our team, helping drive greater cost discipline and execution.”
Gast was overseeing supply chain as part of her role as SVP of Strategy and Business Development.
She had been promoted to senior vice president less than a year ago, in March 2025.
Her exit marks the thirteenth departure of a C-level or vice president in approximately two and a half years.
Gast did not immediately respond when contacted by EV prior to the company’s announcement.
New Supply Chain Chief
Marsons brings more than 20 years of experience to Lucid and will be responsible for expanding and strengthening the company’s global supply chain, as well as partnering across the organization to support production at facilities in Arizona and Saudi Arabia.
Full production in the Saudi plant is scheduled to start later this year.
At Rolls-Royce, Marsons oversaw global procurement and supply chain across civil aerospace, defense, power systems, submarines, and small nuclear reactor businesses.
He joined the British company in June 2024 after serving as Group Executive Director for global procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing at JCB, the construction equipment manufacturer.
Marsons spent nearly 11 years at Jaguar Land Rover in progressively senior supply chain positions, including Director of Global Purchasing.
Marsons had served in an advisory capacity to Lucid for six months before joining full-time. He will report to Winterhoff.
Leadership Restructuring
The appointment follows recent changes designed to accelerate growth, streamline decision-making, and enhance accountability as Lucid scales globally.
Last November’s additions include Marnie Levergood as Senior Vice President of Quality. Emad Dlala was promoted to Senior Vice President of Engineering and Digital, and Erwin Raphael was elevated to Senior Vice President of Global Revenue.
Dlala’s promotion was related to the departure of Lucid’s long-time executive Eric Bach.
Lucid has lost its CEO, CFO, general counsel, and most of its senior leadership since October 2023.
Former CEO Peter Rawlinson transitioned to a senior advisory role in February 2025.
Nearly a year later, a permanent replacement has not been announced, with Winterhoff continuing to serve as interim CEO.
Only two members of the original leadership team remain: Derek Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Design and Brand, and Dlala.
