Lucid Motors registered a total of 48 vehicles in the Netherlands during 2024, according to data shared by the Dutch association BOVAG on Monday. The luxury EV maker recorded six registrations in December, following two units registered in each of the two preceding months.
As reported exclusively by EV, the electric vehicle manufacturer is planning to complement its existing showrooms, known as ‘Lucid Studios,’ with a third-party dealership network business model in Europe. The California-based company is also planning to expand into new European markets, including Belgium.

In Europe, Lucid currently operates in Switzerland, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands, where the European headquarters are established.
Before the end of the first quarter, the company will introduce the Sapphire, the top-performance variant of its Lucid Air sedan, across its European markets.
Lucid’s third model, which will aim to rival Tesla Model Y, will be available in Europe “from 2027,” the former European Managing Director Alexander Lutz said late last year.
In the same interview, Lutz said sales in Europe of the Gravity SUV will start in mid-2025 with the first deliveries taking place in early 2026. “European sales for the Gravity will start in the summer of 2025” adding that the first customer deliveries will begin in early 2026.
In December, Chinese EV makers Zeekr and Nio, both subject to a recently introduced 21.7% tariff on vehicles manufactured in China and sold in Europe, registered 134 and 20 vehicle registrations, respectively.
Tesla registrations in the Netherlands more than doubled in December to 5,905 units driven by major incentives announced by the company in November and December. Polestar recorded 263 units, up 68% from December 2023.

In 2024, the Tesla Model Y was the most registered electric vehicle, with 19,058 units sold, accounting for 14.4% of the market share. Volvo’s smallest SUV, the EX30, followed with 10,802 registrations (8.2% of EV market share).
The Tesla Model 3 secured the third spot with 10,702 registrations, just under 100 fewer than the Volvo EX30.
