Lucid Motors started Thursday the mass production of its second model at its plant in Casa Grande, Arizona — the company’s chief executive Peter Rawlinson announced on LinkedIn.

The executive shared a video driving the first unit, set to be delivered to U.S. customers soon, off the production line. The company has not yet announced the exact date for the initial deliveries.

“Today marks an exciting landmark for our company. Production of the Lucid Gravity is now underway at our factory in Arizona. It was a pleasure to celebrate this moment with the team today,” Peter Rawlinson wrote on LinkedIn. “It took exceptional collaboration to make this a reality. I want to express particular gratitude to our associates who are proudly assembling the Lucid Gravity.”

Sales in Europe are set to begin in mid-2025, with the first deliveries expected in early 2026, according to Alexander Lutz, the former Managing Director of the European market, who disclosed the timeline last month. As reported earlier today, Lutz has left the EV maker and is being replaced by Genesis’ EU chief Lawrence Hamilton.

Amid the announcement, Lucid’s CEO teased that “additional advances we have made” will be shared “soon” — “I believe Lucid Gravity is a groundbreaking vehicle. It offers a previously impossible combination of space for seven passengers and their luggage, and more than 440 miles of range. You can order yours now at our website. I look forward to soon sharing additional advances we have made. Watch this space.”

Here’s the video shared by Peter Rawlinson.

Revealed at the LA Auto Show in November 2023, the pre-production of the SUV, which can fit up to seven occupants, began in late July at Lucid’s factory in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Although pricing details for the European markets were not yet unveiled, the executive said the company’s goal “is to price the Gravity as close to the Air as possible” noting that the model “starts at €85,000.”

The company announced earlier in November that the Grand Touring variant — priced from $94,900 would be the first to be produced, with the Lucid Gravity Touring variant planned for late 2025, with pricing starting at $79,900.
