Lucid Appoints Ford Veteran as VP of Material Planning and Logistics

Lucid Motors has appointed James Todd Kloeb as its new vice president of Material Planning and Logistics, continuing a broader reshuffle of its executive leadership team.

Kloeb, a former Ford Motor executive, announced the move on LinkedIn, saying: “Excited to share that I’ve taken on the role of Global VP of Material Planning and Logistics at Lucid Motors! #CompromiseNothing.”

He joined Ford in late 1990 and held 10 roles over his 34-year career at the Detroit carmaker, most recently serving as Director of Material Planning and Logistics for Ford North America before retiring in October 2024.

The Newark, California-based EV maker has made several leadership changes in recent weeks and months. Earlier this month, it promoted Faisal Sultan to President of the Middle East region as it prepares for further expansion there.

In mid-May, Lucid appointed Karim Farhat to lead its charging infrastructure and smart energy initiatives.

On the same day it reported first-quarter earnings, the company also announced the hiring of four senior executives, including Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh—formerly of Beyond Meat and Red Bull—as senior vice president of marketing.

Jason Ryska, Dr. Kay Stepper, and Adrian Price joined in leadership roles overseeing manufacturing, autonomous driving, and operations, respectively.

Since October 2023, the company has seen eleven high-level exits, including the CEO (who now has a new role), two C-suite executives, two senior vice presidents, five vice presidents, and the European chief.
