Lucid Appoints Douglas Grimm to its Board of Directors

EV maker Lucid Motors said on Thursday it has appointed Douglas Grimm to its board of directors with immediate effect.

The company’s board now includes eight members after shareholders re-elected current directors Turqi Alnowaiser, Lisa M. Lambert, Andrew Liveris, Nichelle Maynard-Elliott, Chabi Nouri, Ori Winitzer, and Janet S. Wong.

Grimm, who was elected at the company’s 2025 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, brings decades of experience across major automakers and suppliers, including executive roles at Chrysler, Metaldyne, Dana, and Visteon.

He currently serves as CEO of V-to-X, LLC, a mobility-focused advisory and investment firm.

Turqi Alnowaiser, Chairman of the Lucid Board of Directors, said the company is “confident that his insights will be valuable, given his proven leadership within the automotive and manufacturing sectors.”

The EV maker said Grimm’s career spans leadership positions in operations, sourcing, quality, and commercial strategy.

He previously led Metaldyne Performance Group as President and COO, overseeing 60 manufacturing facilities in 13 countries, and served as Chairman and CEO of Grede Holdings.

Grimm also holds board positions at Blue Bird Corporation and Electrical Components International, among others.

Lucid has recently appointed the former Ford executive James Todd Kloeb as its new vice president of Material Planning and Logistics.

The Newark, California-based EV maker has made several leadership changes in recent weeks and months.

In May, it promoted Faisal Sultan to President of the Middle East region as it prepares for further expansion there.

On the same day it reported first-quarter earnings, the company also announced the hiring of four senior executives, including Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh—formerly of Beyond Meat and Red Bull—as senior vice president of marketing.

Jason Ryska, Dr. Kay Stepper, and Adrian Price joined in leadership roles overseeing manufacturing, autonomous driving, and operations, respectively.

Since October 2023, the company has seen eleven high-level exits, including the CEO (who now has a new role), two C-suite executives, two senior vice presidents, five vice presidents, and the European chief.
