Lucid‘ upcoming electric vehicle, the third in its lineup, will be named “Lucid Earth” as per trademarks filed to the US Patent and Trademark Office in late January.
The trademark includes “Earth”, “Lucid Earth”and “Earth Dream Edition,” fitting into the category alongside the company’s existing models, Air and Gravity, covering “automobiles, electrically powered motor vehicles, and structural parts”.
Other trademarks filed by the same company include Lucid Gravity, the brand’s second model, Lucid Financial Services, and Sapphire — the luxurious variant of the Air model.

The Delaware based company AVB Metrics, LLC was also responsible for the original trademark of the company’s name back in June 2016. Air, the name of the first model, followed in December of the same year — four years before the Lucid Air was officially unveiled.
In its recent earnings report, Lucid confirmed that the midsized model has the start of production scheduled for late 2026 while the CEO Peter Rawlinson added that the expected price is “about $48,000”.
NEVER MISS AN UPDATE
Answering to a question at the earnings conference call, Rawlinson said, “We need to get a midsized vehicle, our volume vehicle price at around, we believe, about $48,000, get that into production and is on schedule for production for late 2026”.

Later in the call, Rawlinson reiterated the price range while teasing that the model will be “the big one, the one that’s going to be really exciting”.
“But wait until our midsize comes out late 2026. That’s when we’ll have a car, $48,000, $50,000 and that is the big one, the one that’s going to be really exciting,” Rawlinson added.

In an interview at the Financial Times Car Summit earlier this week, Lucid CEO said the company will not focus on developing an affordable model but on energy density technology instead.
“I don’t aspire for us to do the $25,000 car, but if you could get a 6mpkWh car because you’ve got Lucid technology and if you’ve got a fast charging network that you know is reliable, why do you need more than 150 miles range? You’d only need a 25kWh battery bank,” Rawlinson said.
Later in the interview, the chief executive said manufacturers from China are “many years behind Tesla” despite admitting “they’re a lot better than they’ve been”.
Lucid CEO admitted that Chinese OEMs have been improving a lot over the last years while expecting a second wave of improvement as the focus shifts to powertrain technology.
On Wednesday, the EV maker announced the opening of two new service centers in Europe adding that it is preparing to open three new showrooms in Germany.
During the first quarter, the electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid delivered 1,967 vehicles, a nearly 40 percent growth compared to the first three months of last year. In the conference call that followed the earnings release, the CEO Peter Rawlinson disclosed that over 500 of them were delivered to Saudi Arabia.
Lucid has reiterated its annual production guidance of 9,000 vehicles for 2024 despite warning investors that its cash reserves, cash equivalents, and investments are projected to last until the second quarter of next year.
