Nio, Li Auto and XPeng Lead China’s NEV Customer Experience Rankings

J.D. Power published its new annual study on the China New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Customer Experience evaluating the experience of drivers after a maximum ownership of one year.

On a 1,000-point scale, the study measures three different stages: purchase, usage, and after-sales service. Mercedes-Benz ranked first among non-Chinese brands with 789 points, just 2 points ahead of Tesla.

Nio ranked first place with 798 points and was followed by the NEV manufacturer Li Auto with 791. The Guangzhou-based manufacturer XPeng closed the podium with 788 points.

China’s giant BYD ranked eighth with 773, one point ahead of the Huawei-backed automaker Aito. Leap Motor, which has been accelerating its European expansion, closed the top ten with 769 points.

J.D. Power asked 8,733 NEV owners who bought their vehicles between April 2023 and April this year covering 53 brands.
