Beijing-based automaker Li Auto said on Sunday it delivered 48,122 vehicles in August. The result represents an increase of 37.8 per cent from a year ago for the new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer and the third consecutive month delivering over 47,000 units.

The company is expected to reach a total of 1 million vehicles produced in late October. Li Auto‘s L6, the cheaper SUV in the portfolio, starts at 249,800 yuan ($35,200) and was responsible for over 20,000 units over the last three months.

“Li L6 has gained widespread popularity among young users, with deliveries exceeding 20,000 for the third consecutive month, further expanding our market share,” the company stated.

“Notably, our share of the 200,000 yuan and higher NEV market grew to 18% in July, outpacing Tesla to become the sales champion among NEV brands in China,” Li Auto added.
The brand said it “maintained our strong momentum” adding that it will be “enhancing the product strength across all our models through continued OTA updates, further boosting user satisfaction and driving our NPS to a new high for the year to date” this quarter.
Regarding charging infrastructure, the manufacturer closed August with 748 super charging stations equipped with 3,506 chargers in China.
Li Auto saw its second quarter net profit tumbling 52% year over year to 1.1 billion yuan ($151.5 million) with deliveries reaching 108,581 vehicles, up 26% year on year.
In the third quarter, the company expects to deliver between 145,000 and 155,000 vehicles, representing an increase of 38% to 47.5% from a year ago.
Regarding total revenues, Li expects between 39.4 billion yuan ($5.4 billion) and 42.2 billion yuan ($5.8 billion), representing an increase of 13.7% to 21.6% from the third quarter of 2023.
