Beijing-based new energy vehicle (NEV) maker Li Auto said on Friday it has lowered its second-quarter vehicle delivery guidance by 15,000 to 20,000 units.
The new guidance of 108,000 units represents a 0.53% decline when compared with the 108,581 vehicles delivered in the second quarter of 2024.
“The Company now expects to deliver approximately 108,000 vehicles in the second quarter of 2025, compared to its previously issued delivery outlook of between 123,000 and 128,000 vehicles,” Li Auto said in a statement this Friday.
The previous guidance had been set in late May amid the report of the first quarter financial results.
Li Auto said the lower guidance “reflects the temporary impact of the Company’s sales system upgrade to support its long-term growth.”
The brand, which is mostly focused on extended-range electric vehicles (EREV), will launch in July its second battery electric (BEV) model — the Li i8.
Founded and led by Li Xiang, the carmaker said it is !confident in completing its organizational upgrade before the launch of Li i8,” adding it will enable it “to effectively embrace the new product cycle with strengthened organizational capabilities.”
Li Auto delivered 40,856 vehicles in May, representing a 20.4% increase compared to April’s 33,939 units and a 16.7% jump from the 35,020 units sold a year ago.
After a slight decline in April that interrupted a growth streak since the start of 2025, the brand rebounded in May with its highest monthly deliveries so far this year.
Considering it delivered 33,939 units and April and 40,856 in May, the automaker expects June deliveries to be around 34,000 units.
Last month, local media outlet 21jingji reported that Li Auto lowered its annual delivery target from 700,000 units to 640,000 — from which 120,000 are expected to be BEVs.
According to the outlet, the guidance was lowered mainly due to weaker than expected orders for the revamped Li L6, its best-selling — and less expensive — model.
Year to date, Li Auto has delivered 167,659 vehicles, meaning that they completed 26.2% of the updated target. In 2024, the company delivered 500,508 vehicles.
