Jiyue, the joint venture between Baidu and Geely, officially launched its new electric sedan, the Jiyue 07, with a limited-time offer ranging from 199,900 yuan to 289,900 yuan ($27,400 to $39,700), including a 10,000 yuan ($1,370) cash discount.

The launch event attendees were Robin Li, Chairman and CEO of Baidu, Robin Zeng, Chairman and CEO of CATL, and William Li, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Nio. Shufu Li, Chairman of Geely Holding Group, also shared his congratulations via video.

At the event, Yiping Xia, CEO of Jiyue, described the Jiyue 07 as the world’s first electric sedan developed with an investment exceeding 100 billion yuan ($13.7 billion). Yiping highlighted that the vehicle integrates key technologies from Baidu, Geely, and CATL.

He also projected that by next year, cars without advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) will struggle to remain competitive.

At this event, Jiyue announced a strategic partnership in battery swapping, focusing on collaboration in battery technology standards, R&D of passenger vehicles with battery swapping and charging capabilities, battery swapping operations, battery asset management, and charging platform cooperation. Also, Jiyue’s upcoming platform would be a model capable of battery swapping.

With Jiyue joining the partnership, there are now eight car companies that have entered into a battery swapping strategic collaboration with Nio. These include FAW, Changan, GAC, Geely, Chery, JAC, Lotus, and Jiyue.

Jiyue previously integrated into Nio’s charging network, allowing its owners to scan and use Nio’s charging stations directly through the app.

The Jiyue 07 is available in three configurations, featuring a range of up to 880 kilometers (547 miles) in the long-range version. The entry-level model offers a 660-kilometer (410 miles) range, while the performance variant includes a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds with a 770-kilometer (478 miles) range.

One of the Jiyue 07 key innovations is its integration of Baidu’s Apollo Smart Driving (ASD) system. As one of the first production vehicles globally to feature L4-level autonomous driving capabilities, it employs advanced vision-based technology.

The system enables features such as lane changes, smart speed limiting, and autonomous driving in complex traffic scenarios like city streets and highways.

Jiyue 07 ASD is expected to cover more regions by the end of this year, allowing users to navigate using Baidu Maps across China.
