Jaguar EV Concept Leaked Ahead of Official Reveal

After a turbulent November, Jaguar is starting December in much the same way. Images of its new concept car were leaked less than 24 hours before its official unveiling during the Miami Art Week. The concept is expected to shape the brand’s future in electric vehicles, with the first model planned for release in 2026. Two other — fully electric — models will follow.

The model, internally codenamed “Type 00,” is a four-door coupe with straight lines and it was originally planned to be unveiled later this Monday at 8 p.m. ET. Based on the images leaked, the model will be available in pink and blue.

While specifics about the model are yet to be revealed, reports suggest it will generate 575 bhp, and cover more than 430 miles on a single charge. The price is expected to be around £100,000 ($127,000).

Amid the rebranding revealed in November, the company’s Managing Director Rawdon Glover wrote on LinkedIn that Jaguar will “champion true originality, as a creator and advocate of artistic expression, in all its forms.”

“Watch out for the global unveiling of the first physical manifestation of our brand reinvention in Miami on December 2nd, where Jaguar will champion true originality, as a creator and advocate of artistic expression, in all its forms.”

Jaguar’s rebranding campaign has generated a lot of controversy last month. The promotional video released last week showed models in vibrant outfits but notably omitted any appearance of Jaguar cars. In the comment section, the company defended the rebrand as “a renaissance.”

Here’s the commercial shared by Jaguar last week.

A few days after the rebranding, the EV maker Lucid Motors commented earlier this week on the post answering to Jaguar’s slogan “Copy nothing” with a picture of its $249,000 Lucid Air Sapphire with the tagline: “Compromise nothing.”

Also, Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on the post on X, asking, “Do you sell cars?” The 30-second ad features eight models dressed in vivid colors but does not showcase any products from the brand.

The brand answered shortly after saying, “Yes. We’d love to show you. Join us for a cuppa in Miami on 2nd December? Warmest regards, Jaguar.”
