Zeekr Enters Italian Market as European Expansion Continues

Chinese premium carmaker Zeekr announced on Thursday that it has entered the Italian market, its thirteenth in Europe, as parent company Geely Holding Group continues to expand the brand’s presence across the continent.

The company said it will begin delivering its four-model lineup — the Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, and Zeekr 7GT — in Italy this spring, with retail locations also set to open in the coming months.

Prices range from approximately €38,000 to €73,000 ($44,700 to $85,800), depending on the model and configuration.

Distribution will be handled by Jameel Motors.

In announcing the market entrance, Zeekr‘s European division shared across its social media accounts that the brand’s Italian website had been launched.

Zeekr also launched its Italian website on Thursday.

European Markets and Portfolio

Founded in March 2021 as Geely’s premium electric brand, Zeekr first entered Europe through Sweden and the Netherlands in 2023.

A year later, it expanded into Norway. The brand achieved its biggest European push in 2025, launching in nine countries: Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bulgaria.

Italy marks the beginning of another expansion phase in 2026.

European chief Lothar Schupet told Reuters in January that the company plans to enter France, the United Kingdom, and Spain later this year.

Speaking to CAR magazine in the same month, the executive also mentioned Portugal as a target market.

Zeekr is also expanding beyond Europe. The company re-entered the Indonesian market this month and is present in more than 35 markets globally, according to Schupet.

Lineup and 7GT Launch

The four models available in Italy span Zeekr’s current European portfolio. The Zeekr 001 shooting brake and Zeekr X crossover SUV were the brand’s first European models, launched in June 2023.

The Zeekr 7X midsize SUV followedin December 2024.

The latest addition to the portfolio is the Zeekr 7GT, which was unveiled and launched in six European markets — Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden — at last month’s Brussels Motor Show.

The fully electric grand tourer was launched and began deliveries last April in China, where it is marketed as Zeekr 007 GT.

Earlier this week, the new model was showcased at the Zeekr Center Stockholm, in Sweden, to local media, B2B partners, and guests. It will be displayed there until February 26.

The company will begin deliveries for the new EV in Europe in July.

The Zeekr 7GT’s starting price was set at €45,990 — equivalent to $54,100.

Meanwhile, the Zeekr 001 is currently priced from SEK 679,000 ($74,900) in Sweden and at €54,990 ($64,700) in the Netherlands.

Additionally, the Zeekr X starts at SEK 469,000 ($51,700) and €34,990 ($41,200), while the Zeekr 7X is available from SEK 579,000 and €49,990 — or $63,900 and $58,800, respectively.

In unveiling the Zeekr 7GT, Schupet emphasized its role in the Geely-owned company’s expansion goals in the region.

“We are thrilled to bring our latest vehicle to the European market. […] This launch marks the start of a very exciting year of expansion for Zeekr in Europe with more products to come,” the CEO said.

Zeekr’s IPO

In May 2024, Zeekr unveiled the pricing of its initial public offering (IPO), raising $441 million by offering 21 million American depositary shares (ADS) at $21 per share.

Therefore, Zeekr and Geely Holding announced a merger of both firms last July, which was officially concluded in December.

Following this, the premium EV brand left the US stock market by filing a Form 15F to voluntarily terminate the registration of its ordinary shares and ADS.

Geely Holding — which includes Geely, ZeekrVolvoPolestarLotus Cars, among several other brands — targets global sales of over 6.5 million vehicles by 2030, with 75% of them being new energy vehicles.

The Chinese group also aims to exceed 1 trillion yuan ($144.7 billion) in total revenue, with overseas sales representing over one-third, and to rank among the top five best-selling automakers in the world.
